    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dix Hills, New York- Cooking enthusiasts are invited to join Long Island Master Chefs and accomplished cooks for a culinary series that explores creative, easy-to-do recipes using fresh, local and nutritious whole foods. Know Real Food LI – A Culinary Adventure will be held at the Taste NY Marketplace at the Long Island Welcome Center in Dix Hills beginning on Tuesday, August 8, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.

The cooking series is open to chefs and home cooks of all experience levels and will also highlight top agritourism destinations throughout Long Island.  It will include a number of ninety-minute sessions aimed at showcasing Long Island's superb agriculture and driving tourism throughout the region. The first session will feature Master Chef Tom Schaudel.

“We are honored to have Chef Schaudel demonstrate his incredible talent through the dishes he prepares for the inaugural session," said Program Coordinator, Nancy Vallarella. "Regarded as ‘Long Island’s son,’ Chef Schaudel’s loyalty to this area and culinary endeavors throughout the region for more than 40 years, qualify him as an extraordinary ambassador for this culinary program.”

“This cooking series is a fun and unique way to connect consumers with Long Island’s top-notch agricultural products, and at the same time, show off some of the incredible agritourism destinations in their own backyard,” said State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball. “This type of community engagement was part of Governor Cuomo’s vision for the Welcome Center, and it is exciting to see that vision come to life.”
