The LI Greenmarket Inc. team is very excited to be opening our newest Farmers' Market in St. James, New York this Saturday. Please join us: June 3rd, from 9am -1pm at the Lutheran Church at 230 2nd Ave. A ribbon cutting ceremony and Blessings from the Church will highlight the day.
In Partnership with the Community Association of Greater St. James, our group of farmers, small batch producers, and local Long Island food supporters are eager to visit and highlight the wonderful community and downtown of St. James, NY.
As a new market, we are eager to showcase several of our favorite vendors that join us in other Long Island areas, as well as inspire and encourage new food businesses and farmers to participate and help grow the outdoor, weekly market space.
The goal of this type of community gathering and activity is to encourage residents and visitors, alike, to support Long Island agriculture and small business, as well as learn about the benefits of the St. James community and business district.
"The Lutheran Church is a stunning space to hold a family and civic market event. It is safe, spacious for walking, and in a wonderful location to promote folks to continue on towards the downtown shops and brick and mortars of St. James," says Georgia Meckes, Director of LI Greenmarket Inc..
Other highlights of the Farmers Market throughout the upcoming season include: Live acoustic music, seasonal tastings and cooking demos, recipe sharing. Further, St. James destination information and other event and local news will be provided by the Community Association of Greater St. James at their tent.
