What an incredible garden business! This past weekend, it was my distinct pleasure to visit and tour Garden Fusion on the North Fork in East Marion. This family business was established in1987 by Walter Gaipa. Named Marion Gardens became well-established in selling wholesale plants all over Long Island and NY. Now, the business has grown and expanded to ship plants all over the United States (through www.organicharvest.com) with successors Chris and Angela Gaipa, who have created a lovely retail experience at Garden Fusion and make plants available for sale at Farmers Markets.
You will easily recognize these beautiful certified organic plants, as they come to Kennedy Plaza Farmers Market for the early Summer season on Saturdays and to the Kings Park Farmers Market on Sundays. Chris, Angela, and a team of around 10 folks grow over 300 varieties of certified Organic plants: vegetables, herbs, and succulents that are simply, stunning.
Chris was kind enough to tour me and my family (which includes 2 boisterous young boys) around the immaculate greenhouses and outdoor hoops houses that were pristine in their plant organization and arrangement.
Angela was more than welcoming to us, her many incoming customers, and to the idea that the busy Farmers' Market and retail season was upon she and Chris. The weekends are picking up quickly with NoFo visitors and local homeowners preparing their gardens for the vegetable planting season. And fortunately, the Gaipas are ready for them!
Take a look at my slideshow below of the beautiful plants that are getting ready to grace the Kennedy Plaza Farmers' Market starting Saturday, May 6th! Get your garden gloves on and your hands on some certified organic plants for your backyard garden. These plants are also one of the BEST Long Island gifts for Mother's Day.
